Guatapé is a charming town with colorful houses best known for its massive 720-foot (220-meter) granite monolith and a man-made lake covering over 5,400 acres. This town has become so popular that its main road is usually busy so instead of going straight, let’s visit Guatape on ebikes using the less beaten path.

ebikes are pedal assisted, they don’t have a throttle. They demand less effort than a traditional mountain bike but you still have to spin the cranks and keep the balance. The tour occurs between 1,600 and 2,350 meters (5,200 - 7,700 feet) above sea level and we cover a total distance of 68 km (42 miles) of public roads with little traffic. Total elevation gain is 900 meters (2952 feet), total elevation loss is 1300 meters (4265 feet). Only 40% of the route is uphill.
